Dr. David Finken

David Finken is a postdoctoral research fellow at ETH Zurich (Chair of Technology Marketing). He conducts interdisciplinary research and works with teams across departments (psychology, computer science, and management). His research is inspired by real-world situations and borrows from fundamental knowledge on (social) psychology and organizational behavior to educate markets and societal decision-makers on whether emerging technologies can solve problems and drive value.
 
Three Main Areas of Research related to Emerging Technologies:

  • A first stream investigates psychological responses to Mixed Reality pplications such as Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality. 
  • secondary stream explores the perception and consequences of AI technologies for consumers' and managers' decision-making
  • The third stream spots light on interpersonal relations in times of robotic companions. 

Research is teamwork. As such, David's collaborates with leading academics from Europe, the United States, and Asia, and maintains strong connections with industry partners. This, in particular, allows him to play at the forefront of understanding technological advancements. 

Scientific Involvements. David engages in writing scientific grant proposal for the Swiss National Science Foundation or InnoSuisse, organizes conferences (including special sessions and scientific workshop), and reviews manuscripts for leading journals and conferences.
